Nezra's look inspired by DnD Playbook.
Burning Sun Hold is a place for outcasts, making it perfect for Nezra Shyaashilara. She's technically both dromaar and aiuvarin, and so may not be quite so accepted anywhere else in Belkzen.
It's said she's related to the great Mahja Firehair, through her father's line. But Firehair's own teachings caution against seeking personal glory, so Nezra prefers to earn respect than inherit it.
Sarenrae worship almost defines Burning Sun Hold. Nezra worships both Firehair and Sarenrae, and has studied to become a cleric. More specifically, she's trained as a Slayer: one who battles undead. This is perfectly in keeping with Sarenrae's teachings, and it's a very practical career while the lich Tar-Baphon threatens the region. Moreover, it allows Nezra to fight for a united Belkzen without toughness of a full-blooded orc.
Nezra is an elf (dromaar) for Pathfinder 2e, designed for use in the Triumph of the Tusk adventure path to compliment an existing party of martials.
Nezra was initially built to compliment a martial-heavy party. As a cloistered cleric specialising in the heal spell she could effectively heal the living and harm the undead. Scroll Trickster dedication granted her some magical versatility, which would have been useful as the party's only spellcaster.
However, like the Ship of Theseus, all the players (and therefore PCs) changed very early in the campaign. Needing a bit more frontline support, Nezra was "rebuilt" into a warpriest. I liked her character overall so other changes were fairly minor: increase Strength, reduce Dexterity, drop Acrobatics, emphasise Athletics. I stuck with the heal focus, the Scroll Trickster dedication, and other "magic nerd" features. The end result is a character who is not exactly optimised as a warpriest... but that's okay!
Nezra has a slender frame and pointed ears of an elf with the green skin and strong facial features of an orc. Her wiry athleticism is an imperfect mix of of brawn and elf grace. She stands just over six feet tall, which is not too unusual for an elf or an orc. Her red hair is the main reason the rumour about her blood-relation to Mahja Firehair persists, though to most it's a joke more than a fact.
She does not have the confident swagger of an orc, or the alluring poise of an elf, but rather a slightly-awkward posture that betrays her cloistered life away from hard labour and social pressures.
Nezra wears armour and carries a shield, but it's often strapped to her back to allow her to use the dozens of scrolls she keeps at the ready. A treasured silver scimitar is her weapon of choice.
Like all characters, Nezra's personality may change as the campaign progresses.
