You may not be surprised to learn that elite supranational societies are often at odds with one another.
Even ones that are traditionally elven.
So it was that the Wasp Queens made a move against the Red Mantis.
They failed. The Wasp Queens agents were discovered. All perished in an ambush, save for Sabichal.
Sabichal had split off from the main group to secure an exit for her comrades.
When the Red Mantis assassins found her she was alone and utterly outnumbered.
Her defiance and willingness to fight anyway caught the attention of Blood Mistress Jakalyn, who showed enough mercy to offer: "Join us or die."
So, Sabichal joined.
Normally, it might take years to fully train an assassin. To sculpt them mentally and physically.
But Sabichal was not an ordinary person.
Her family had been deep in a Calistrian cult.
She had been selected for training in the Wasp Queens starting in her adolescence.
It wasn't shocking that she took to the Red Mantis organisation easily.
For her, the changes were small.
She once did a mix of crimes; now she focussed on assassinations.
She once wielded a whip and dagger; now she used two saw-toothed blades.
The Blood Mistress took a personal interest in Sabichal's training, and was pleased by her easy conversion.
In reality, Sabichal initially considered a revenge-filled escape when an opportunity presented itself.
But she discovered her new life... wasn't so bad.
Why throw it away?
After all, Calistria warns against being consumed by a need for revenge.

About Sabichal
Sabichal is an elf rogue for Pathfinder 2e, designed for use in the Prey for Death adventure. This adventure begins at level 14 and ends at level 18.
She is designed to be a lightly-armoured and agile melee character who favours light blades. She also fills the general roles of a rogue.
Inspiration for Sabichal comes from the Warhammer Fantasy Witch Elves.
I also played a very similar character for a D&D 5.0e "evil campaign" one-shot. In that incarnation, she was a rogue with a one-level dip into barbarian.
Appearance
An athletic and lean build. About six feet tall.
Her pale cavern elf skin and wild mane of white hair clashes with the dark paint she uses to make her visage more terrifying.
Her large elven irises are a shade of milky grey.
She prefers to be unencumbered in combat, favouring light armour or no armour at all.
Her Calistrian background means she is comfortable in scantily-clad battle outfits, but she knows clandestine work rarely tolerates such attire.
Personality
Like all characters, Sabichal's personality may change as the campaign progresses.
Personality Traits
- Career Cultist. Serving in cult-like organisations since she was young, Sabichal is not exactly a normal sort. Debauched, unhinged, and utterly unsuited for polite society or honest work.
- Just Go 'Click'. Cults do not foster healthy coping mechanisms. Hungry? In pain? Afraid? Lonely? Just turn it off. Centuries of practice allow Sabichal to easily repress feelings.
Edicts
- But to Do and Die. Sabichal's compliance isn't down to loyalty. It's down to a cult-fostered lack of agency and self-worth.
- Use Terror Tactics. "The sawtooth blade merely cut his flesh; it was fear that killed his soul."
- See also: Achaekek's edicts, Calistria's edicts.
Anathema
- Altruism. "It's folly to try change the world."
- Grant Mercy. "Foes should be cut down. They would do no different to you."
- Persecute the Powerless. "Calistria speaks of revenge. I loathe cowards who torment those powerless to seek revenge."
- The God of War Hates He Who Hesitates. She isn't impatient: she'll happily wait in ambush or move quietly. But she hates indecision.

Plot Hooks
Inspiration for the GM, if inspiration is required.
-
Bottled Up. Repressed feelings do not go away. What might happen when centuries of bottled up emotions burst from containment?
-
Broadening Horizons. Sabichal's lived in something of a bubble.
That bubble might burst if she's forced to hang out with a diverse gang of colleagues.
What strange ideas might they present to her, and how might she react?
-
Revenge. Initially, Sabichal was determined to enact a bloody escape from the Red Mantis.
She did change her mind, as mentioned above.
The Blood Mistress isn't stupid, however.
She knows how Calistrians think.
Does she suspect Sabichal still harbours ideas of revenge?
Perhaps she will test the loyalty of her new convert?
Or maybe she will send her on suicide mission to be rid of any risk?
On the other hand, she might be arrogant and over-confident about her conversion.
if she pushes Sabichal too hard, those feelings might return.
Whatever the case, it's unlikely that Jakalyn hasn't put thought to the matter.
-
Old Habits. Sabichal primarily worships Achaekek now.
But she still worships Calistria and holds to the ways of a Calistrian.
This may cause trouble in the Red Mantis organisation.
Her hedonistic ways may cause cultural tensions.
Ideology from her old organisation may not fit well with Red Mantis doctrine.
The two groups' professional standards may be different.
